More Help Needed?

by allstars
Need another idea for where you can help this holiday season?  The ECHO Food Shelf is looking for volunteers to help distribute the Winter Break Boxes to the children enrolled in the BackPack Food Program on Tuesday December 21st from 9:30 am- 7:30 p.m. at ECHO Food Shelf. This box of food will provide the children with breakfast, lunch and snack throughout the 12 day winter break. This volunteer opportunity is scheduled for 2 hour time slots from 9:30am to 7:30pm for 2 volunteers at a time. Feel free to sign up for more than one time slot if you are available. Also, please bring a book to read or something to pass the time, as it will be slow at times. Please note: ECHO Food Shelf’s new location, 1014 S. Front Street in Mankato, for the Winter Break Box distribution. Volunteers will greet families, give the child/family the box of food, and let them know about services available: SNAP (food stamp) enrollment help and ECHO registration assistance. Volunteers that sign up for a time slot later in the day will also help call parents that haven’t picked up their boxes yet. Mom Was Right…

by allstars
It’s one of those times where mom was right, so be sure to stand and sit up straight. Slouching and bad posture can lead to all sorts of injuries, causing unwanted aches and pains.  Make sure that you remember to sit up straight, and stand with a strong confident posture.  Not only does it make you look stronger and more confident, but it actually helps your body stay strong and active as well.
